Showcasing our Belle Vue Pavilion project in Penarth, constructed in partnership with Vale of Glamorgan Council ✨
Completed in the summer of 2023, initial works consisted of demolition of the existing pavilion, which had no heating and limited accessibility. Following public feedback, the council planned to reduce the size of the building, meaning there was less encroachment into open space to the rear.
Built with accessibility in mind, the pavilion houses the first changing places space in central Penarth. That is a bespoke toilet area containing a range of equipment to help disabled users. The shared use community building features a kitchen, multi-use hall, potential for a kiosk/café and outdoor seating area. External works included adjustment to external works areas, footpaths, retaining walls, landscaping and pedestrian access.
The play area was upgraded to feature equipment suitable for children with a range of abilities and accessibility requirements. Bella the Dragon, a popular sculpture, was renovated before being returned to an appropriate place within the park 🐉
