We carried out works on a project that was to provide homes for the homeless which was through our clients Valleys 2 Coast and the charity Emmaus working together.
The project was to refurbish a semi derelict former sheltered housing unit. The unit was originally built in the early 1970’s and was traditionally constructed of brick block with cavity walls under a tile pitch roof. It contained a lift that needed to be removed and a new lift fitted in his place. The property had been closed since 2007 and had been subject to destructive vandalism.
The works included full refurbishment and remodelling of the building to construct 24 bedsits with en-suite facilities, communal kitchen, dining room, laundry, meeting room and storage, along with the new lift. Exterior landscaping was also required on the project.
