The project comprises the construction of new nursing and residential services at the former Mynydd Mawr hospital. Completed in March 2020 the scheme added another 49 units to the Cwm Gwendreath site consisting of: A single-storey leisure/therapy building, four new purpose-built single storey buildings to accommodate nursing and residential accommodation, redevelopment of an existing two storey 19th Century building into residential care, construction of a maintenance building, sustainable urban drainage system, roads, parking and landscaping works.

Each of the buildings has an independent kitchen, laundry, office facility and a range of meeting rooms, quiet rooms, lounge, dining rooms and specialist care facilities. In addition, every building will have an independent secure garden alongside a communal garden in the centre of the site.

Challenging end user changes, during the construction phase of the project have been achieved, with the minimum of disruption to the programme, while still achieving value for money. They are always open to proactive discussions regarding client and end user requirements and have worked closely with all of the client nominated sub-contractors / suppliers of specialist systems and equipment. The site team are all very professional in their approach to delivery and are very approachable when issues arise.”
