The scheme was constructed in partnership with Merthyr Valleys Homes, Paul Overton Architects, Blackburn Griffiths and RPA Ltd. The Welsh Government funded development comprises of 3 affordable 2-bedroom bungalows.

Construction consists of traditional brick and blockwork and completion was achieved in July 2020. The Aberfan site team achieved a ConsiderateConstructors Scheme Performance Beyond Compliance Award. The project is set within the turning head of a cul-de-sac and therefore continued liaison with the surrounding community was vital to ensure the successful delivery of this scheme. We worked closely with Merthyr Valleys Homes to provide in-house apprentice placements, which enabled a female bricklaying apprentice to gain experience and to be able to finish important elements for her to complete and pass her NVQ.
