Adamsdown Primary School was a design and build project delivered partnership with Cardiff Council, as part of Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools Programme.
The project was for a stand-alone building with link canopy to the existing school, providing a new block of classrooms, main hall, kitchen, and toilet facilities on an unused section of their grounds.
We engaged a full design team from Architectural, Engineering, Services, Acoustics, BREEAM and Health and Safety consultants to develop the Employers Requirements.
The building was constructed of an external SFS system with a combination of cladding and brickwork to the elevations, steelwork structure, with composite windows, aluminium doors and a standing seam roof. Externally we provided a new car park, drainage, surfacing, canopies, soft play, MUGA, fencing, and soft landscaping.
Internally the building had a new BMS installation, with full mechanical and electrical services, inclusive of a new sprinkler system. Internal finishes included decorations, sports flooring, suspended ceilings, IPS and cubicles and all fitted furniture.
