The Gerddi Glofa Castellau Affordable Housing development was build in partnership with Newydd Housing Association and Rhondda Cynon Taff Council.

The scheme consisted of 18 homes for affordable rent on Castellau Road in Beddau: 4 two bedroom semi-detached houses, 8 one-bedroom apartments (arranged as a two storey terrace), 4 three-bedroom semi-detached (three storey town houses) and 2 four-bedroom semi-detached (three storey town houses).

In response to Welsh Governments desire for Registered Social Landlords to utilise Modern Methods of Construction in their development programmes, we have used Off Site Manufactured system, with a view to maximising the offsite construction of the units utilising a timber frame, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) approach. Air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and heat recovery ventilation systems were also installed.
